About

Interactive Sign-In offers a tailored experience while using the UiPath Assistant with other UiPath products. This way, you can connect your robots to Orchestrator with your credentials directly into UiPath Assistant instead of using a Machine Key.

From there, all your automations and resources available under your account become part of the UiPath Assistant.

When you first open the Assistant, you are presented with the following screen allowing you to sign in to your account or continue using the UiPath Assistant in Offline Mode.

📘

Note:

If you choose to continue using the UiPath Assistant Offline, keep in mind that only the Local Process Feed will be reachable. To make sure that your processes are available, make sure they are placed in the Local Processes Feed.

For more details on using the UiPath Assistant Offline, please click here.

To start the Sign-In procedure, you can either click the Sign In button from the main window or click on the ![search](https://documentationpicturerepo.blob.core.windows.net/screenshots/screenshots/Robot + Assistant 20.8/icon.png) icon to open the menu, then click Sign In.

📘

Note:

Connecting your Robot via Machine Key is still available, all you have to do is to choose "Machine Key" in the Connection Type section.

After the login process is completed, the status should show "Connected, Licensed" and the processes tied to your Username from Orchestrator should appear on the Assistant's home page.

📘

Note:

If you are using the On-Prem version of Orchestrator and your credentials are synced with Active Directory, the authentication takes place automatically just as it happens when accessing Orchestrator in a browser.

If your account is part of multiple Organizations, you are asked to select it during the authentication flow.

🚧

Important:

If you are using a local License, after you log in with your UiPath Crendetials, the License inherited from your user in Orchestrator instance overwrites the Local License inherited from Studio. To avoid this, make sure to enable the "Stand-Alone License" option from the Robot settings in Orchestrator

Going back to the drop-down menu and hovering over the Sign Out button displays the user currently logged in.

With the introduction of the new interface, the Connection Status indicator has been moved to the top of the Assistant, hovering over it displays the Connection Status and the Orchestrator URL.

Clicking on the Icon opens the browser and takes you to the Orchestrator Home Page.

Signing out from Assistant

When logged in with Machine Key

Logging out from UiPath's Assistant after being logged in via Machine Key disconnects the user profile from Orchestrator but the Robot stays connected.

When logged in with Interactive Sign-In

Interactive Sign-In takes care of the full connectivity, meaning that signing out after being connected via Interactive Sign-In completely disconnects both the User Profile and Machine Key connection of the Assistant from Orchestrator.
